William R. Brown

William R. Brown, former General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of American United Life Insurance Company, has joined Stewart & Irwin, P.C in an Of Counsel capacity. Mr. Brown served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for American United Life for 17 years and was employed by American United Life for over 41 years until his recent retirement.

In addition to his duties at AUL, Mr. Brown is a past Board Chairman and Member of the Indiana Comprehensive Health Insurance Association (ICHIA) and a past Board member of the National Organization of Life and Health Guaranty Association. He also served on the Board of the Indiana Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association since 1978, acting as Board Chairman the last thirteen years.

Mr. Brown currently serves on the Board of the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Indianapolis and the Franklin College Board of Trustees. He is a former Board member of the Marion County Health and Hospital Corporation and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission.

His obtained an A.B. from Franklin College and his J.D. from Indiana University in 1970.
