Michael P. Shanahan

While practicing in the areas of automotive law, commercial law, litigation, bankrupcy, tax and estate law, Michael P. Shanahan brings niche expertise about the automotive industry to Stewart & Irwin. Shanahan's direct and diverse knowledge about automotive law was garnered during his previous employment as an accountant at K.B. Parrish & Company and as the financial director of a large Indianapolis Honda dealership.

Shanahan started his education in the United States Air Force, where he served for six years. He was honorably discharged after receiving numerous awards, including a National Defense Medal.

He continued his education with a bachelor's degree at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. His educational determination allowed him to graduate number one in his class. An unrelenting drive to further his education led him to a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. Currently, he is a member of the Indiana and American Bar associations, and sits pro tem as the Judge in Pike Township Small Claims Court.

"My greatest personal accomplishment is having a wife and two boys. Without them, all the hard work doesn't matter," he says.

Outside of the office, Michael is a sports enthusiast, actively participating in bowling, golf, and tennis. He also has a strong interest in the sport of triathlon.
