Michael K. Irwin

Mike participated in the defense of one of the larger jury trials in Indiana's history in March 2002. The case involved so many litigants and attorneys that the trial was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Indianapolis Athletic Club. The Indiana Supreme Court recently issued its ruling on this case, creating a landmark decision on premises liability for injuries to employees of independent contractors.

Mike graduated from DePauw University and received his doctor of jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis.

Stewart & Irwin honored Mike's father, Bill Irwin, a former partner, as one of the firm's namesakes when a permanent name was chosen 15 years ago.

Mike, a former distance runner, has participated in three marathons and numerous minimarathons. When he's not in the courtroom these days, Mike is more likely to play golf, spend time with his family and read legal thrillers.
