Ed represents self-insured companies in the transportation, manufacturing and construction industries. He has significant experience litigating negligence issues, product liability, professional liability claims and commercial transactions.

Ed's trial background, negotiation strengths and candid style of advocacy form the bedrock on which he builds any case or defense. But his strength with clients emanates from his often preached understanding that the practice of law is, at base level, a service industry.

"The key is to always remember you are serving a client — not your own ego. The client has a problem that needs attention. Provide all the information the client needs, give sound advice, and then do what must be done," he says.

Ed received his doctor of jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington.

"You've got to live with creativity and passion."

Ed worked as a bricklayer, missionary, English teacher, law clerk, bartender, night porter and a country and western dinner show performer to finance his travel during his threeyear world tour after graduating from college. He ran twice with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, and prayed with Mother Teresa while working at her Calcutta mission. During his journey, Ed visited more than 35 countries, including Japan, Australia, India, Nepal and England.

An alumnus of the University of Notre Dame, Ed's friends and colleagues know him as a man with two passions outside of the law: his family and college football.

"Sober judgment and hard work are always crucial elements of any legal practice. But truly great outcomes are born from confidence, creativity and passion."
