Dennis provides patent prosecution, intellectual property & technology transaction, litigation, regulatory, and aviation legal services to individuals and companies in a wide range of technology areas and industries, including electronics, software, medical devices, sporting goods, transportation, communications, machine and industrial process control, security and defense, construction, and agriculture. Dennis is a graduate cum laude and received his doctor of jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law-Bloomington, and earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University School of Engineering.
Dennis has over ten years of experience in large law firm practice and private practice, is registered to practice before the United States Patent Office, and is admitted to the Indiana State Bar and the U.S. District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Dennis also prepares and teaches continuing legal education classes in patent law to his peers.
Dennis is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) as well as the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). Prior to practicing law, Dennis served as a U.S. Air Force F-15E Instructor Weapon Systems Officer and Electronic Warfare Officer. Preceding his military service, he was a control systems engineer with an Indiana-based engineering consulting firm that developed automated test and assembly equipment for the automotive and other industries. Civic duty and community building are important to Dennis, which he fulfills in part by involvement in his church and by providing pro bono legal services to a few non-profits and through bar sponsored pro bono programs. Dennis is a life-long aviator and currently enjoys flying historic WWII aircraft as a volunteer pilot for the Indiana Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.
