Cynthia M. Locke

Cindy works primarily in insurance defense litigation handling product liability claims, including toxic torts, premises liability, professional liability, employment discrimination, and ERISA benefits litigation. Cindy has tried cases in both state and federal courts in Indiana and has argued cases before the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

"I believe I bring a practical, down-to-earth approach to litigation. I do not believe every case needs to be litigated endlessly. Often cases need creative settlement approaches." Cindy graduated with her J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis and was managing partner at an Indianapolis defense firm before joining Stewart & Irwin.

She is a former President of the Mental Health Association of Hamilton County and volunteered for many years for the Crisis and Suicide Hotline of the Mental Health Association in Marion County.

"I found that being an empathetic listener was as valuable to many people as were the other resources we were trained to offer. There are certainly some parallels in litigation where a party with a dispute just wants to be heard."
